For this year Spring get-together we met at a new venue Zio Fraedo Restaurant on the Vallejo waterfront. Board member Maria Mortati gave a captivating presentation on the world-renown knife sharpeners of the Val Rendena. Maria’s maternal grandparents, Polli and Bassi, were from Giustino in the Val Rendena. Maria is a museum curator, and as part of a research project, she created an exhibit on knife sharpening.
